Another number one Netflix movie

A new Netflix movie starring Rory Kinnear as Burley entrepreneur Dave Fish wick has soared to number one on the streaming charts over the weekend. The film, Bank of Dave 2: Loan Ranger, is a sequel to the 2023 hit  Bank of Dave, which dramatized Dave’s journey to establish his own bank and gained widespread attention. The first film has since returned to the top 10 charts as well. In Loan Ranger, Dave tackles the issue of payday lenders, a cause he has been passionate about since creating an award-winning documentary on the subject a decade ago. We had the privilege of joining Dave on the road the year his documentary was released, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the local popularity that was driving his entrepreneurial success. Since then, Dave and This is Money have maintained a strong friendship, with Dave continuing to serve as our "business doctor." He’ll be reviving this role in the coming months after a break for the movie’s production and promotion.

In a special segment of the Money podcast (starting at 45 minutes and 30 seconds), Dave shares his infectious enthusiasm with Editor Lee Boyce. Despite the financial challenges many face, Dave remains optimistic, declaring that this year will be a good one. He also shares exciting updates, including his upcoming musical, the potential for a *Bank of Dave 3*, and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the new movie.
