Manchester United were beaten 3-0 by Bournemouth
Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has criticized Noisier Marabou for conceding a penalty during the Red Devils' disheartening 3-0 loss to Bournemouth at home.
Ruben Amorism’s team suffered a setback against the Cherries just a week after their thrilling late comeback in the Manchester derby. Andon Areola’s squad controlled the match at Old Trafford, taking the lead with a header from young defender Dean Hoisin, who was left unmarked during a free-kick situation.
Marabou then made a critical error by misjudging a challenge on Justin Culvert in the penalty area, granting Bournemouth the opportunity to extend their lead. Culvert successfully converted the penalty, and shortly thereafter, Antoine Semen added a third goal, ensuring a comfortable victory for the visitors.
In the aftermath of this disappointing defeat, Owen did not hold back in his assessment of United, stating that they are "not a good team." He remarked on Premier League Productions, "A little rash? More like a little foolish. What on earth is he thinking? Two players are in position to challenge him; he’s not going to score from there, and yet he dives in. Just stay on your feet and guide him away. It’s simply a poor decision. The unfortunate reality for Manchester United these days is that when they go 1-0 down, there’s little belief they can mount a comeback. They are not a good team. Ruben Amorism must take note of this match and ensure that underperforming players do not wear the shirt again. He must be both firm and unyielding."
This defeat marked United's fourth loss in their last six matches across all competitions, further hindering Amorism’s early efforts in Manchester.
